Teeling, “lo spirito di Dublino”, è un marchio nato nel 2012 dalla volontà dei fratelli Jack e Stephen Teeling di riportare il nome della loro famiglia al centro della scena dell’Irish whiskey.
Ancor prima di aprire una distilleria nel quartiere di The Liberties nel 2015, i fratelli avevano già imbottigliato le prime espressioni, grazie allo stock di 16mila barili ottenuti a mo’ di “liquidazione” da Cooley, fondata dal padre John e poi acquistata da Beam Suntory.
Alla base del core range – che fa delle seconde maturazioni in barili peculiari la sua caratteristica – ci sono lo Small Batch, blended affinato in barili ex rum, e il single grain, maturato in barili ex vino rosso. La gamma include anche un single malt e un single pot still (il primo ad impiegare spirito prodotto nella distilleria di proprietà) senza indicazione d’età e una serie di single cask single malt di invecchiamento più significativo. Uno di questi, il 24 anni in Sauternes, ha perfino ottenuto nel 2019 il riconoscimento di miglior single malt al mondo ai World Whiskies Awards.
Nel 2020 è stata lanciata la prima espressione torbata, il Teeling Blackpitts.
