The Friend at Hand, situato Cathedral quarter di Belfast, è una vera e propria istituzione in Ulster e in tutta l’Irlanda. Negozio fra i più riforniti dell’isola con le sue oltre 600 referenze, ospita anche un museo del whiskey e della distillazione a Belfast, nonché una delle più vaste collezioni di bottiglie.
Nato da un’idea di Willie Jack, proprietario del Duke of York pub, dal 2016 il Friend at Hand ha anche lanciato una propria linea di imbottigliamenti. Peculiarità: non sono acquistabili online, ma solo al negozio. Un approccio molto old style.
Le prime espressioni di Friend at Hand sono tutti single cask di single malt invecchiati 13 anni. Parallelamente, sono stati rilasciati anche tre single cask di single pot still distillati a Midleton in collaborazione con Power’s, Redbreast e Midleton.
