As the mythical Italian soccer commentator Bruno Pizzul would say: “everything very nice”: we found some old forgotten “short reviews” from the site, to fill in another multiple review column. Obviously nothing really complex, just few impressions and a vote. Anyway our personal opinions are irrelevant, or not?
Longrow 10 yo (1994/2004, OB, 46%)
You taste it an you know: this is Campbeltown! Very particular as every Longrow, with peaty notes, mineral and dirty, but perhaps less exuberant compared with its siblings. 81/100
Isle of Jura ‘Superstition’ (2010, OB, 43%)
Let’s be very direct. Do not trust who suggests you this as a very pleasant malt: it’s only a mere superstition. Excessive in its sweetness, unbalanced, the goal was elsewhere. 75/100
Yoichi 15 yo (2011, OB, 45%)
An avalanche of dried fruit, almonds mainly? Super creamy. A ginger biscuit? Unfortunately these beauties will disappear from the market soon… 86/100
Caol Ila Friends of the Classic Malts (2007, OB, 43%)
You smell a young typical Caol Ila, calm. You’re for sure not expecting a disaster of taste: alcoholic, acid and flavorless. When old friends turn their back at you. 70/100
