Our Calendario Avventato has Glenlivet 15 yo on day 11. Remember that we tasted it blind, and the whisky we had in our sample was revealed by our friends from Whisky Revolution Festival only this morning, a few minutes before publishing. Please have mercy.
Whisky #11

You put the nose on the glass and it’s already a love story. You get a delicate hint of minerality, that recall wet rocks and earth. Everything here? Not at all, because mellow are vanilla and custard notes: portuguese Pastel de Nata and white chocolate. Yellow ripe fruit and perfumed wood. On the palate it’s pretty coherent: same mineral note at first, well balanced by pastry and white chocolate again. Body seems ok, it’s quite intense and everything reverberates in a long finish, oily
and satisfying, with nice touches of wood, cloves and a salty cream.
Only because we like to sound goofy, we bet it’s a middle aged whisky, we’d say around 18 yo. We like the complexity and the interplay between fruity, creamy and mineral sides, in a very elegant way. Even if it’s surely at a reduced strength, it’s rich and hedonist. Thumb goes up: 87/100.
